Engineering Geophysics

Geotechnical and lithological data are needed to aid the designing process of bridges, roads, tunnels and buildings. Acquisition of these kind of data or utility mapping is possible with geophysical methods without any destruction. For example, not only lithological but also elastic parameters (Young modulus, Poisson's ratio) of the subsurface bodies can be derived from seismic methods. These kind of parameters are indispensables in the geotechnical world.
